Test shots

In this shot I focused on the scene of the boats parked on the side of the ocean, so I decided to show a medium shot with a slow pan so that the scene looks more alive. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary because the pace of the shot was good enough.

In this shot I focused on the scene of the jet skis parked on the edge of the ocean, so I decided to show a wide shot with a tilt so that the scene is more lively. This shot was not ideal to be used for the real documentary because it showcases the sky and scenery rather than the jet ski.

In this shot I focused on the scene of a boat with traditional fishing nets on top of it, so I decided to show a medium shot with a slow tilt so that the scene looks more calm. This shot was not ideal to be used for the real documentary because it focuses more on the sky rather than the boat.

In this shot I focused on the shot of traditional fishing nets placed on the edge near the ocean for easy access, so I decided to show a wide shot with a pan so that the scene looks more intruiging. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary because it follows the direction of the traditional fishing nets.

In this shot I focused on the shot of fishes being sold in the fish market, so I decided to show a high angle POV so that the scene looks more interesting. This shot was not ideal to be used for the real documentary because there are people in the background.

In this shot I focused on the shot of a man cutting fish to sell, so I decided to show a medium close-up shot so that the scene looks more fascinating. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary because it shows the selling process in the fish market.

In this shot I focused on the shot of the sea animals swimming around, so I decided to show a wide shot with a slow tilt so that the scene looks peaceful. This shot was not ideal to be used for the real documentary because it was not filmed in the most suitable angle.

In this shot I focused on the shot of plastic that was thrown in the ocean, so I decided to show a high angle POV so that it shows how plastic could affect the fish and other sea animals. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary.

In this shot I focused on an interview of a staff member from the GNS community on sustainability, so I decided to show a medium close-up shot so that it shows how meaningful the interview was. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary because the interviewee answered the question perfectly from the first go.

In this shot I focused on the shot of a student throwing her garbage in the recycling bin, so I decided to show an over the shoulder shot so that it shows that the students throw their garbage in the recycling bin if required. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary.

In this shot I focused on the shot of the scenery in the beach, so I decided to show a slow tilt wide shot so that it shows the relaxing view of the ocean. This shot was ideal to be used for the real documentary as it is a good scene to end the documentary.

First cut

Feedback

Some of the positive feedback I received was that I went into detail when explaining the troubles and issues the ocean has as well as that I showed solutions and alternatives to daily things used.

Some of the feedback I received of things I need to improve in my documentary is that is that the interviewees are hard to hear because of the background music as well as that I should include some subtitles and introductions for the interviewees.

My response:

To improve on my documentary I will lower the volume of the music in the background of my documentary so that the interviewees can be heard, I will include subtitles so that the things being said makes sense and I will include some introductions to the interviewees so that it is known who they are.
